78th Radnor Hunt Races, May 17, 2008.

For decades attending Radnor races has been a tradition! We love watching the steeplechasing at Radnor Hunt, As always there were 6 exciting races featuring horses galloping over hurdles and timber fences for purses totaling $210,000. Unfortunatley the carriages were unable to do their traditional parade. All proceeds from the Radnor Hunt Races benefit the land and water preservation programs of the Brandywine Conservancy in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania.

Michelle Leonard and her entourage included Sandra Leonard aka Michelle's mother, Builder Roy Raynor is wife Karen Raynor and their talented children Katie and Will Raynor, Doug Martindale, a young successful real estate investor and his girlfriend Jen Gross, Sandra Kenton, head of nursing at Martins Run  and Rose Marie Riley, social editor for City Suburban News . We had a delicious buffet lunch in the Radnor Hunt Club - it was delicious as always. Jim Senior who is in private banking with BNY Mellon, once again BNY Mellon was the corporate sponsor, invited Michelle Leonard and her mother Sandra and their entourage to the BNY Mellon tent. Doug was delighted that BNY Mellon had cookies - one of his favorites!

We wandered through the picnic area. This year the theme was Outlaws, Villains and Scoundrels. Michelle with help from friend creative genius Tina Brubaker worked their magic on a fabulous theme hat. Unfortunately the judges did not think so. Actually there was a woman dressed as Cruella - and I did think she should win - but what about the other 2 places???

We ran into many friends Maggie Corcoran, Lynne Norley, Charlie Mather, Edna Shaw, Shelly and Harret Margolis, Peggy Adams, Diane Dalto, Richard Wooseman, David Iams, Don and Judy Rosato, Susan and Kurt Scovill, Ken Leith, Carole Springer Schoettle. Dee Dee Blain.  All in all a perfect day!
